Beatport's "Beatport Play" Platform Launches Remix Contest With Skrillex & Damian Marley

BEATPORT, the world’s largest dance music community and music store for DJs, announced today a new remix contest via BEATPORT PLAY, an innovative platform where DJs and producers can download free stems from original hit tracks, remix them, and compete against each other in multiple contests running in parallel; winning remixes are then released officially by the contest’s host label.  The contest to remix Skrillex & Damian Marley’s “Make It Bun Dem” launches today, Tuesday, September 4 with submissions accepted through September 18.  Winners will be announced October 30.

Introductions are hardly necessary with BEATPORT PLAY’s latest remix contest, featuring not one, but two Grammy award-winning artists. Reggae royalty Damian Marley and MTVs 2011 Electronic Dance Music Artist Of the Year Skrillex are offering up their collaboration for remixing pleasure. Grab the parts from Skrillex & Marley's “Make It Bun Dem” for the chance to win some huge prizes, including an official release of the winning remix by Skrillex’s label Big Beat Records/OWSLA. The Grand Prize winner will also take home a Pioneer XDJ-AERO Wireless DJ System, a Sounds To Sample Elements library and a special edition vinyl signed by Skrillex himself.
